Selling on Armslist is the worst.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and lowballers…. or guys that want to trade you for things you don’t want.

It’s been a couple of weeks since I decided to part with a few pieces of my collection.

They’re still for sale.

I get emails every day now, from guys that want to “buy my piece”, want to trade for an 80% lower, or have half of the cash now. One of my favorites was a guy wanting me to deliver the gun 2 hours away because he has a DUI and can’t drive.

Another wanted me to meet him at the gas station by his house, an hour away. I offered to meet half way, but he stuck to his guns, because he had a Daytona 500 watch party to attend.

I remember it was just a few years ago that facebook, reddit, and other websites allowed you to make legal sales online. At the time I had no need, beyond price checks, but now – we are in the dark age of guns. They’ve become this forbidden taboo to many people petrified of a bit of black plastic and metal.

We’re now at an impasse with 4 real options, and all of them kind of suck. There’s Gunbroker, which is basically ebay with the fees included. It’s great for old revolvers and stuff, but there’s definitely a premium, and involves FFL transfers, which aren’t free. T

here’s selling to a pawn shop or a gun shop, which means you might get a small fraction of the value – but it’ll go quick at least. The only good option of the 4 is knowing someone that wants something you’re selling – Friends or family that you know are responsible…. or Armslist.

Where you’re anonymously talking with some stranger, only his email to go by, praying someone reasonable contacts you, and praying that you aren’t going to get shot on the sale.

So basically.. Thanks a lot to the complainers that got legal gun sales removed from Reddit.com/r/gunsforsale and Facebook. It makes it tougher on all us law abiding citizens.
